While the first wave of Blu-ray discs containing pin HD Sharp and many other things, budget debut Philips player is loaded with features that can even extend to download extras disc BD Live. Given the exceptionally low price, the stylish shiny black facade and a hood that hides the disc tray, there is very little that remains of great value high definition images.

As with other machines at this price it doesn’t have analog surround-sound outputs, so make sure you have a modern AV receiver with a HDMI input if you want to experience the Dolby TrueHD 7.1 sound.
