The government and BlackBerry producers were in a stalemate over the security services in India and had raised a red flag about his activities with reference to non-availability of the method of delivery services and the company e-mail to intercept.

There was a climb down by the government to intercept e-mail with BlackBerry Enterprise Services (BES), which decodes the message and sends it to the e-mail server provider, where it is stored in decrypted form. So the message is pushed to the BlackBerry device in encrypted form.

DOT secretary said that there are currently around 5000 Enterprise Servers for BES. Director, Intelligence Bureau Nehchal Sandhu noted that this communication between company employees only, and therefore not "serious concern" for safety or intelligence.

"But, it was decided to list and location of servers in the telecommunications providers to achieve" the presentation said.
